This is the only remaining structure of the original village of Pleasant Hill.  It was used as a hospital after the Battle.  Please view the links for the related websites included at the bottom of this page.

The above are pictures of the damages that time and neglect have caused to this very important piece of War Between The States History.  As you can see from looking at the pictures, the damage is increasing the probability of losing the last remaining building from the village of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana.  The Battle of Pleasant Hill was a major engagement in the Red River campaign.

The priority for saving this relic is to replace the roof and level the floors.  Money is needed to buy supplies for the roof and leveling the structure.  Skilled and unskilled labor is also needed to do the work.  This is a great project for Reenactment units, SCV Camps, SUVCW Camps, UDC Chapters, OCR Chapters, Civil War Round Tables, and caring individuals.

Please join us at the annual Christmas encampment each year.  It is the main fund raiser for this restoration.  This is a great place and time for reenactment units to have their Winter meetings in a relaxing setting on Hallowed Ground.

Please Act before it is too late.
