Spaights’ Battalion is a group of reenactors dedicated to the preservation of the history of the War Between the States (American Civil War) in Louisiana and Texas. We are also dedicated to having a good time!
We currently have members from as far away as Austin, Texas to Slidell, Louisiana and North to St. Joseph, Louisiana. Most of the membership is concentrated in the Lake Charles, La Area. We are family oriented! We strive to be as authentic as possible and still be able to go to work on Monday. We have Artillery, Cavalry, and Infantry. We sometimes portray Union troops, but always camp Confederate.
We do much more than reenactments. We do school programs, parades, living histories, and memorials.
